 MODEL COLLEGES/UPGRADED JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS COMMENCE E-REGISTRATION FOR YEAR 2025 ENTRANCE EXAMINATION The Lagos State Government has commenced Year 2025 e-Registraton Entrance Examination (Screening Test) for primary 6 pupils transiting to junior secondary schools into its Model Colleges and Upgraded Junior Secondary Schools.  The Director, Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Adebayo Orunsolu confirmed that the e-Registration will commence on Thursday 6th February and ends on Friday, 16th May, 2025, adding that the Screening will be conducted through Computer Based Test (CBT) only between Wednesday, 28th May and Friday, 30th May, 2025, at the various CBT designated centres across the State. Mr. Orunsolu stressed that qualified pupils from public and private Schools are to pay a sum of #10,000 (Ten Thousand Naira Only) for the Application. FIRS DTA Fraud: EFCC Secures Interim Forfeiture of N104m Properties 

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on February 16, 2022 secured the interim forfeiture of two landed properties worth over N104m belonging to Aminu Side Garunbabba, a staff of Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS.
Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, granted the order while ruling on the application by counsel to the EFCC, Ekele Iheanacho brought pursuant to Section 17 of the Advance Fee Fraud and other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006.
The Court directed that the interim forfeitureOrder be published in Thisday and Punch Newspapers, alerting anyone with interest in the properties to show cause why they should not be forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria.
The respondent between 2017 and 2018, allegedly received the sum of N341, 971,950 (Three Hundred and Forty One Million Nine Hundred and seventy one Thousand, Nine Hundred and Fifty Naira) from the FIRS as Duty Tour Allowance for travels that were no made and diverted the proceeds to acquire the forfeited properties.
The properties include a four bedroom Terrace Maisonatte with BQ at Barumark Groove Estate, Plot 667 Cadastral Zone Bo3, Wuye District, Abuja purchased at the rate of N65,000,000.00 (Sixty Five Million Naira)
The other property, bought for N39, 000,000.00 (Thirty Nine Million Naira, is situated at No. 5 Lodge Road, Kano State.  
Justice Egwatu adjourned till March 23, 2022 for consideration of the motion for final forfeiture of the properties.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
