KIDNAPPING OCCURS DAILY IN KOGI, BANDITS TOOK 28 RESIDENTS ON MONDAY — SUNDAY KARIMI.(PHOTO).

 Senator Sunday Karimi has raised concerns over the growing incidence of kidnapping and banditry in Kogi State, describing abductions as a daily occurrence in the state. Karimi made the remarks on Wednesday during plenary while contributing to a motion of urgent public importance sponsored by Senator Abdulfatai Buhari on the recent abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Ogbomoso. The lawmaker said kidnapping and banditry have become major security challenges threatening the stability of the country, stressing that responsibility for addressing the menace should not rest solely on the Federal Government. According to him, bandits invaded Ayedun Bunu, a community in Kogi West Senatorial District, in the early hours of Monday and abducted 28 residents. KADUNA: TROOPS FOIL ATTACK,RESCUE SEVEN PERSONS IN CHIKUN LGA. (PHOTOS).#PRESS RELEASE.

KDSG Security Update: Monday 7th February 2022. 

Troops foil attack, rescue seven persons in Chikun LGA. 

Security agencies have reported to the Kaduna State Government that troops foiled an attack by bandits in Ungwan Garama, located in the Maraban Rido general area of Chikun LGA. 

According to the report, a distress call was received from the area and security forces swiftly responded, mobilizing to the location and engaging the bandits. After an intense exchange, the superior firepower of the troops forced the criminals to flee in disarray. 

The security forces exploited the withdrawal route of the bandits, and were thus able to rescue seven persons who had been kidnapped. The seven rescued persons are listed as follows: 
- Buba Samuel
- Janet Buba 
- Rebecca Buba 
- Precious Buba 
- David Yohanna 
- Johnson Yohanna 
- John Daniel 

All of the rescued have been reunited with their families. 

Receiving the report, Governor Nasir El-Rufa'i commended the security forces for their spirited efforts and speed of response. He congratulated them on the safe rescue of the seven citizens. 

The Governor conveyed his warm regards and best wishes to the rescued persons. 

Security forces have sustained patrols in the general area.
