 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. APGA Begins Distribution of Certificates of Return To Candidates



The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA has commenced distribution of Certificates of return to its candidates for National Assembly.

The distribution happening at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja saw elated candidates from different parts of the country coming to pick up their certificates. 

In an Interview with the ABS, some of the candidates including Honourable Chris Azubogu, who is vying for the Anambra South Senatorial Seat, Sir Eric Eze vying to represent Orumba North and South in the Federal House of Representatives, Alex Ikwueche vying for Aba North and South Federal Constituency among others harped on the need for the electorate to choose the candidate that will represent them well.

They reminded them that voting for the highest bidder would be akin to mortgaging their future and that of their children.

The distribution of Certificates of return which started yesterday, continues today and date for that of Governorship and House of Assembly candidates will follow at a later date.
