 The Federal Government has prohibited military personnel from engaging in romantic relationships with their subordinates or the spouses of their subordinates.   Additionally, Nigerian military members are strictly forbidden from participating in homosexuality, lesbianism, bestiality, cross-dressing, and other activities deemed incompatible with the values of the armed forces.   They are also barred from body piercing, tattooing, disorderly behavior, intoxication on or off duty, and any actions that could bring public disgrace.   These rules are outlined in Section 26 of the updated “Harmonised Armed Forces Terms and Conditions of Service”, signed by President Bola Tinubu on December 16, 2024.   According to the section:   - Officers must not engage in activities related to the LGBTQIA2S+ community or cross-dressing.   - Body piercings, tattoos, drunkenness, and public brawls are prohibited.   - Relationships wit...

 Anambra Governor's Wife, WHO To Provide Free Cervical Cancer Screening For Female Civil Servants, Wives Of Public Servants, Others




Anambra Governor's wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo will  be providing free cervical cancer screening for female civil servants and public servants and wives of male civil servants and public servants in the state.


The free cervical cancer screening to be carried out in collaboration with the World Health Organization, WHO office in Anambra State, will be held in the Head of Service Conference Room, Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex, Awka on Friday, September 29, 2023.


The Anambra State Head of Service, Barrister Theodora Igwebe who made the announcement in Awka, stated that the initiative is aimed at promoting women's health and raising awareness about the importance of cervical cancer screening. 


She explained that with cervical cancer being a significant public health concern, early detection through screenings can make a profound difference in saving lives.


The Head of Service while commending Mrs Soludo for her role in creating wider education on the dangers of cervical cancer among women, and for spearheading the just-concluded free screening treatment of five thousand Anambra women, further noted that by introducing the free screening for female workers and wives of public servants in the state, the governor's wife has once again shown her passion for women's health and the overall wellbeing of Anambra female workforce.


Note that Mrs Soludo is currently the Anambra State Cervical Cancer Ambassador.
