 Anambra Govt Warns Against Purchase of Encroached Land at Trans-Nkissi By MaryAnn Chukwuma The Anambra State Ministry of Lands has warned members of the public against purchasing plots at TransNkissi Phase 1, behind the Federal Government Girls College, Onitsha, from persons claiming ownership on behalf of the Umuosodi family of Onitsha. The warning was contained in a public notice dated Sept. 28, 2026, with Ref. No. PS/ML/2026/CR/VOL.II/028 and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Nkeiru Mokwe, for the Commissioner. According to the notice, the Ministry became aware that persons alleged to be members of the Umuosodi family had invaded and commenced clearing portions of the land with the intention of selling them to unsuspecting members of the public. It said compensatory plots had been allocated to the family and other families in Onitsha before the current administration. NMDPRA Sets for new regulations in the petroleum industry

Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, NMDPRA, is to Introduce seven new regulations in line with the Petroleum Industry Act, PIA 2021, to unravel the activities of syndicates in the petroleum supply chain.

The Executive Director of NMDPRA, Mr, Ogbugu Ukoha stated this during a stakeholders Consultation for the Authority phase five in Abuja.

Mr, Ukoha explained that activities of syndicates in the petroleum Industry over the years had caused setback to the Nation’s economy and noted that the seven regulations if fully implemented would go a long way in ensuring transparency and accountability in the oil sector.

Some stakeholders in the petroleum Industry appealed to government to develop policies that would attract more foreign investment.

The seven new regulations to be introduced by NMDPRA, includes, the Midstream and Downstream Anti competition and Customer Protection Regulations 2023, 

 Petroleum Code of Conduct Regulations 2023, Data Deposition Regulations 2023,

 Disposal of Confiscate Materials and Equipment Regulations, Registration and Publication of licences Permit and Authorisation Regulations 2023, Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Third party Access and Open access Regulations amongst others.
