  A manhunt is underway for man who shot a Granite City Police Officer multiple times. Officers in Granite City, Illinois, responded to a call regarding a unwanted subject near the 2000 block of Johnson Road at 2:20 p.m. on Friday, December 5th. Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. The suspect opened fire on officers before fleeing the scene.  Unfortunately, one officer was struck multiple times. The officer was rushed to a St. Louis University Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.  A massive manhunt is now underway to locate the suspect. Authorities warn the public that the man is considered armed and dangerous. A STATE IN THE U. S, PASSED A BILL WHICH PROVIDES CASTRATION AS AN OPTION TO SEX CRIMES AGAINST MINORS. (PHOTO).

 Louisiana legislators pass a bill which would give judges the option of surgical castration for S/O charged with crimes against children under 13.


The Legislature in Louisiana passed a bill on Monday which would provide the option of surgical castration to offenders of aggravated sex crimes against minors.

If Governor Jeff Landry signs the bill into law, Louisiana will be the first state to have such a law. 


There are some states such as Texas, Florida and California which allow for chemical castration. However this new law in Louisiana, if passed, opens up a whole new era in punishments within the criminal justice system. 


The bill received overwhelming support from both Louisiana's House of Representatives and Senate therefore it isn't hard to guess what the governor will do when it comes across his desk.
