 LASG PRESENTS STAFF OF OFFICE TO NEW ONIȘẸ OF ISE KINGDOM The Lagos State Government has presented the Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment to Prince Ibrahim Adebowale Saliu, as His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa Oba Ibrahim Adebowale Saliu, the Onise of Ise Kingdom in Lekki Local Government Area. The presentation was performed on Friday, August 21, 2026, by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, alongside the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa, with the approval of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State Executive Council, following the demise of the late Oba Ganiu Adebowale Adegbesan, Onise of Ise Kingdom.  Fatal Bulletproof Charm Testing: 19-Year-Old Native Doctor Shoots Client Dead in Edo


The Edo State Police Command has apprehended a 19-year-old self-proclaimed native doctor following the death of his client during an attempt to test a bulletproof charm.


The incident occurred on August 20, 2024, in Onumu Community, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State.


According to a statement released on Monday by the State Police Command spokesperson, SP Moses Yamu, the victim, identified as Alex Ezekiel, had approached the native doctor to obtain a charm purportedly capable of protecting against gunshots and cutlass attacks.


After preparing the charm, the native doctor attempted to demonstrate its effectiveness by shooting Ezekiel.


However, the charm failed, and Ezekiel sustained fatal injuries. Despite being rushed to Ifejola Hospital in Igarra, the victim was pronounced dead by a medical doctor.


Yamu confirmed that the suspect has been taken into custody and will be prosecuted once the investigation is concluded.


“The suspect will face prosecution as soon as the investigation is concluded,” the police spokesperson stated.
