 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. KENTUCKY MAN INVOLVED IN MASS SHOOTING ON A KENTUCKY INTERSTATE STILL ARMED AND ON THE LOOSE.(PHOTO).


 Kentucky man involved in mass shooting on a Kentucky interstate still armed and on the loose.


The incident occurred Saturday afternoon when Laurel County deputies were called to I-75 near exit 49 in London, Kentucky. When officers arrived on the scene they were met with a chaotic scene. Cars in both lanes were pulled over with emergency flashers on. 


9 of the vehicles had been struck by gunfire in both lanes of traffic.


5 people were seriously injured after being struck by gunfire with one victim being struck in the face. 2 additional people were injured in an accident caused by the incident. All of the victims survived and are reportedly in stable condition.


A suspect has been identified although there is no clear motive as officials say this was not a roadrage situation.


The suspect is 32-year-old Joseph Crouch of Woodbine, Kentucky. He is described as 5'10" and 154 lbs. 


Multiple agencies are now involved in the search for Crouch and although it was suspended overnight, after it was determined it could put searchers in danger, it is back in full swing this morning. Police are searching a heavily wooded area in the county's north end.


They are asking surrounding communities to stay alert however stating Crouch could pop up anywhere.


The Kentucky transportation cabinet reports I-75 north and southbound exit 49 remains closed. US 25 is closed from the KY 3094 intersection to the Laurel County line. 


If you see Joseph Crouch you should not approach him and call 911 immediately.
