 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.  President Paul Biya Celebrates 42 Years in Power Today, November 6✊🇨🇲👑


Paul Biya, now 91, has been president of Cameroon for 42 years, making him the world’s longest-serving leader. His rule, which started on November 6, 1982, has experienced a firm grip on power, backed by loyal officials in key roles. Originally a prime minister, he became Cameroon’s second head of state after independence from France in 1960.


Over the years, he has been nicknamed “Popol” and “The Sphinx” for his elusive, strategic style. Despite economic challenges and social issues, he has maintained control with allies in top positions, from the National Assembly to the military.


In 2018, he won a seventh term, though the election faced criticism for low turnout and accusations of fraud. Opposition figures like Maurice Kamto, who contested the results, faced imprisonment. 


Cameroon’s Anglophone regions have also seen turmoil. Calls for more regional autonomy turned into a movement for independence, leading to violent clashes that have displaced over a million people.


Paul Biya rarely appears in public, preferring carefully edited TV addresses. He often travels abroad, with reports revealing millions spent on overseas trips. His personal life is also noted for his marriage to Chantal Biya, known for her striking hairstyles, nearly 40 years his junior.


However, despite numerous controversy, Biya remains in power, navigating a complex political landscape with little visible change.


Rumours say he has plans for the next presidential elections which will take place in 2025.
