 Jill Biden to release memoir View From the East Wing in June  Former First Lady Jill Biden will release her memoir, View from the East Wing, on June 2. The book reflects on her experiences during Joe Biden’s presidency, including his decision to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race. Published by Gallery Books, a division of Simon & Schuster, the memoir will also be available as an audio edition narrated by Biden herself. The book offers an intimate look at life as First Lady during major historical events, including the Covid-19 pandemic and the aftermath of January 6, while sharing her personal perspective on the presidency and its impact on her family. For the first time, she details her experiences surrounding her husband’s choice not to seek reelection, sharing both the uplifting and challenging moments of that period.  President Paul Biya Celebrates 42 Years in Power Today, November 6✊🇨🇲👑


Paul Biya, now 91, has been president of Cameroon for 42 years, making him the world’s longest-serving leader. His rule, which started on November 6, 1982, has experienced a firm grip on power, backed by loyal officials in key roles. Originally a prime minister, he became Cameroon’s second head of state after independence from France in 1960.


Over the years, he has been nicknamed “Popol” and “The Sphinx” for his elusive, strategic style. Despite economic challenges and social issues, he has maintained control with allies in top positions, from the National Assembly to the military.


In 2018, he won a seventh term, though the election faced criticism for low turnout and accusations of fraud. Opposition figures like Maurice Kamto, who contested the results, faced imprisonment. 


Cameroon’s Anglophone regions have also seen turmoil. Calls for more regional autonomy turned into a movement for independence, leading to violent clashes that have displaced over a million people.


Paul Biya rarely appears in public, preferring carefully edited TV addresses. He often travels abroad, with reports revealing millions spent on overseas trips. His personal life is also noted for his marriage to Chantal Biya, known for her striking hairstyles, nearly 40 years his junior.


However, despite numerous controversy, Biya remains in power, navigating a complex political landscape with little visible change.


Rumours say he has plans for the next presidential elections which will take place in 2025.
