Mohbad's Wife, Wunmi Goes Into Hiding, Says ‘My Life Is In Danger; My Father-In-Law's People Have Vowed To K!ll Me’

Wunmi Aloba, wife of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has called on the Nigeria police and other security agencies to help him over alleged threats to her life and that of her son, Liam.

Wunmi told SaharaReporters on Wednesday that her father-in-law’s people have vowed to kill her and her son, lamenting that out of fear, she left her house on Tuesday to seek safety.

She, however, did not mention her whereabouts, saying she was in hiding.

Wunmi, while reacting to a recent trending video in which a popular Tiktoker, Adeshina Kabir Hayat, threatened to make her life unbearable, said she had been having sleepless nights.

She said she had been receiving calls from unknown numbers and persons threatening to kill her if she continued to seek justice for her late husband.

When asked how she and her son were doing, Wunmi said, "I am fine and my son is fine, but I left the house yesterday. My father-in-law's people have vowed that they will never rest until they kill me unless I leave my husband's properties.

“They are really after my life. It is about five months now but I have not gotten any update from coroner’s inquest."

She continued, "I have been having sleepless nights, moving from one abode to another to save my life and that of my son, Liam.

“I receive strange calls from different people threatening to deal with me if I continue to seek justice for the soul of my late husband and this has taken a huge toll on my health. I have lost my right to privacy and I need to speak up and raise the alarm now before it gets out of hand.

“I am using this opportunity to call on the Nigerian police and other law enforcement agencies, as well as well-meaning Nigerians to save me from those that are threatening my life and that of my son.”

Wunmi said about five months after the coroner’s inquest took over the case of her husband's death, it had yet to give further updates on the actions being taken on the matter and its current stage.

Meanwhile, a group under the aegis of Justice For Mohbad Movement Group (JMMG), had earlier sought redress against social media bullying of the widow and her son, Liam.

The group had also pointed accusing fingers at popular Tiktokers Hayat, Bukky Jesse, Yeye Kudi Courtroom and a few others for allegedly threatening and cyberbullying Mohbad's wife.

The group also expressed disgust at the trending video where Hayat threatened Wunmi.

It cautioned those making such threats to stop adding to the pain of the widow.

The JMMG’s Secretary, Dawah Class, said, “It has been brought to our attention the activity of some unscrupulous individuals are targeting and harassing Mohbad's family, putting their lives in danger.

"The relentless attacks on social media have reached an alarming level, causing distress to the widow and son, who are already dealing with the grief of losing their loved one.

"We firmly believe that the law enforcement agencies play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of citizens, especially those who are vulnerable and facing threats. Therefore, we kindly request the police to take swift and decisive action to investigate and address the ongoing harassment and threats against Mohbad's family.

"The Justice for Mohbad Movement Group stands for justice, peace, and the well-being of all citizens. We trust that the police will prioritize this matter and provide the necessary protection to the widow and son, allowing them to live their lives without fear.

"In times of distress, it is crucial that the community can rely on the protection and support of law enforcement. We hope that this appeal will prompt the necessary actions to safeguard the rights and safety of Mohbad's family.”
