 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  2024/25 NWFL SEASON: LSSC ASSURES ROBO FC, DANNAZ LADIES OF SUPPORT 


The Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC), Lekan Fatodu has expressed high hopes for Lagos-based teams, Robo FC and Dannaz Ladies, as they prepare to begin their 2024/25 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premier League campaign.


Speaking ahead of the league openers, Fatodu commended both teams for their commitment during pre-season preparations and highlighted the significance of representing Lagos on a national stage.


"Robo FC and Dannaz Ladies have shown tremendous dedication, and I am confident they will make Lagos proud this season. We expect them to set the pace with strong performances in their opening games", he stated.


Both teams have been in excellent form, with Robo FC aiming to solidify their place as a top contender in the league, while Dannaz Ladies are eager to make an impact in their second season in the top flight.


Fatodu praised the coaching teams and players for their hard work and assured them of continued support from the Lagos State Sports Commission. "The entire state is behind you and we look forward to celebrating your successes throughout the season," he added.


Fans across Lagos are excited to rally behind the two teams as they embark on their respective campaigns, aiming to bring glory to the football-loving state.
