 Anambra Govt Warns Against Purchase of Encroached Land at Trans-Nkissi By MaryAnn Chukwuma The Anambra State Ministry of Lands has warned members of the public against purchasing plots at TransNkissi Phase 1, behind the Federal Government Girls College, Onitsha, from persons claiming ownership on behalf of the Umuosodi family of Onitsha. The warning was contained in a public notice dated Sept. 28, 2026, with Ref. No. PS/ML/2026/CR/VOL.II/028 and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Nkeiru Mokwe, for the Commissioner. According to the notice, the Ministry became aware that persons alleged to be members of the Umuosodi family had invaded and commenced clearing portions of the land with the intention of selling them to unsuspecting members of the public. It said compensatory plots had been allocated to the family and other families in Onitsha before the current administration. AN OKLAHOMA GRANDMOTHER DIDN'T HESITATE WHEN SHE SAW HER GRANDKIDS STRUGGLING, GIVING HER LIFE, TO SAVE THEIR LIVES. (PHOTO).

 An Oklahoma grandmother didn't hesitate when she saw her grandkids struggling, giving her life, to save their lives. 


53-year-old Robecca Garrett was spending an enjoyable afternoon with her grandchildren at Lake Eufaula on Sunday, March 23rd, when things went horribly wrong.


Around 3:10 p.m. Robecca noticed her 8-year-old and 10-year-old grandchildren had gone into the lake and were struggling in the water at the 9 South Swim Area of the lake.


Reports indicate the water temperature of the water was 53 degrees that day. However, Robecca never had a second thought as she went headlong into the cold waters.  


Thanks to Robecca's selfless act, both grandchildren were soon safe, but Robecca was in serious trouble. After being underwater for an undetermined amount of time, Robecca was pulled from the water by two bystanders. 


Robecca was rushed by ambulance to McAlester Regional Hospital where she was pronounced deceased upon arrival. 


Robecca gave her all when it counted most and is the perfect example of unconditional love. 


I believe a statement in the GoFundMe organized to help with funeral costs sums it up best. "Her selflessness and courage are a testament to the kind of person she was, always putting her family first, no matter the cost".
