 Agha Mba Inspects Sports Facilities Across Anambra, Pledges Rehabilitation of Stadiums By Ifeoma Aniagbado The Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba has embarked on an inspection tour of major sports facilities across the state as part of efforts to assess their condition and chart a path for their rehabilitation. The inspection was conducted on June 2, covering the Chuba Ikpeazu Stadium in Onitsha North Local Government Area, Otuocha Township Stadium in Anambra East, Godwin Achebe Stadium in Onitsha South, Ogidi Stadium in Njikoka, Solution Stadium in Aguata and Awka City Stadium in Awka South. Speaking during the exercise, the commissioner said the visit was aimed at evaluating the current state of the facilities and identifying areas requiring urgent intervention to restore them to full functionality.  PDP begins screening of presidential, guber, n’assembly hopefuls


The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has commenced the screening of presidential, governorship, and national assembly aspirants ahead of the 2027 general election.


In a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja, the party said the exercise was being coordinated by the Abdulrahman Mohammed-led national working committee (NWC).


The statement was issued by Chinwe Nnorom, national director of publicity, on behalf of Jungudo Mohammed, national publicity secretary of the party.


According to the statement, the screening of governorship aspirants was scheduled for noon on Thursday at the PDP national secretariat annex, Legacy House, Maitama, Abuja, while that of presidential aspirants was fixed for 2pm at the same venue.


The party said the presidential screening committee is chaired by Okezie Ikpeazu, former Abia state governor, while Hassan Sokodobo will serve as secretary.


Other members of the committee include former senators George Sekibo and Zainab Kure, alongside other party stakeholders.
