 Anambra Govt Warns Against Purchase of Encroached Land at Trans-Nkissi By MaryAnn Chukwuma The Anambra State Ministry of Lands has warned members of the public against purchasing plots at TransNkissi Phase 1, behind the Federal Government Girls College, Onitsha, from persons claiming ownership on behalf of the Umuosodi family of Onitsha. The warning was contained in a public notice dated Sept. 28, 2026, with Ref. No. PS/ML/2026/CR/VOL.II/028 and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Nkeiru Mokwe, for the Commissioner. According to the notice, the Ministry became aware that persons alleged to be members of the Umuosodi family had invaded and commenced clearing portions of the land with the intention of selling them to unsuspecting members of the public. It said compensatory plots had been allocated to the family and other families in Onitsha before the current administration.       COVID-19 Update by the Incident Commander, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu Good people of Lagos, Today, 29 COVID19 Lagos patients; 24 males and 5 females, including two Indians were discharged from our Gbagada, Lekki, and Agidingbi Isolation facilities to reunite with the society. The patients, 20 from Gbagada, 6 from Lekki and 3 from Agidingbi Isolation Centres were discharged having fully recovered and tested negative to COVID-19.       President Donald Trump has announced that the US is terminating its ties with the World Health Organization, WHO, and will suspend all funding to the organization.... The US President made the announcement during a press conference at the White House Rose Garden on Friday May 29. He said his decision comes after WHO ''failed to make the requested and greatly needed reforms”. He accused the WHO officials of helping China lie and conceal the seriousness of the ''Wuhan virus''.         The Lagos state police command have released photos of the police officers accused of killing 17-year-old Tina Ezekwe in the Iyana-Oworo area of the state.  The spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, Bala Elkana, who released the photos of the accused police officers, gave their names as ASP Theophilus Otobo and Inspector Oguntoba Olamigoke. He said the police officers have been subjected to internal disciplinary proceedings and if found culpable, will be arraigned in Court. . Giving an account of what happened, Bala said "The incident happened on 26th May, 2020 at about 2245 hours.
