 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results. AL-QAEDA RAID IN AN HOTEL YESTERDAY NIGHT,LEFT 20 PEOPLE DEAD IN BURKINA FASO.

                 Security forces ended a siege by al-Qaeda fighters at Splendid Hotel in Burkina Faso's capital today saturday,killing three islamist gunmen and freeing 126 hostages.At least 20 people are believed to have been killed in the attack on the hotel which began late yesterday friday.Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb {AQIM} claimed responsibility for the raid.Simone Compaore said operations were still under way at a second hotel nearby,the Hotel Yibi and security forces were trying to determine if some of the fighters were hiding there.According to the Minister,''The operations at the Splendid Hotel and the nearby Restaurant Cappuccino have ended.126 hostages were freed,among them 33 were wounded.Three jihadists were killed.They are an Arab and two black Africans'.More photos below.
