 Peter Obi blasts Gov Alia for blocking him from visiting Benue The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, has accused the Benue State Government of politicising his planned visit to internally displaced persons (IDPs) camps and health institutions in the state. In a statement shared on Monday via his official X account, Obi expressed disappointment over what he described as deliberate attempts to frustrate his humanitarian trip to Benue, lamenting what he called the growing politicisation of good causes in Nigeria. DAILY POST had exclusively reported that Alia had moved to block a planned visit by Obi to camps housing Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state. Top government officials reportedly advised Governor Alia against granting Obi access to the IDP camps, citing political undertones. UNILAG RUSTICATED 198 & EXPELLED 125 STUDENTS.{READ}.

Image result for unilag                    According to sources,authorities of the University of Lagos have expelled 125 students and rusticaated 198 others for various offences,including examination malpractices during last academic session.The lists of the affected students were published on the university website today sunday.The institution's Deputy Registrar {information},Mr Toyin Adebule,confirmed the expulsion and estimation in Lagos on Sunday.Adebule said the university ''will soon publish and display the names and photographs of the students in the media''.He said that the action was in line with the university's zero tolerance on malpractices and other vices in campus.''Last session,a number of students were caught in various forms of malpractices during their examinations.Some were found cheating during the examination with micro sheets,while others were hired as surrogates to write papers for others.Other were caught smoking weeds {marijuana } right in their halls of residence by their colleagues and reported to the university authorities.For those who were caught impersonating,writing examinations for others,they will face outright expulsion.In other to get the desired effect of their various punishments,we are planning to publish all their names as well as display their photographs all over the campus in the next one week.We shall carry out this measure in all the departments and faculties in the institution.This is to help the university ensure that the affected students will have nowhere to hibernate on campus.By doing this,the affected students would know that the university want to ensure total compliance to the sanction and would not want to be seen anywhere around the campus,''.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
