 JOINT ARMY, DSS, AMOTEKUN OPERATION ELIMINATES ANOTHER ISWAP LEADER Security forces have eliminated another senior ISWAP commander accused of planning terrorist attacks across parts of Southern Nigeria. The statement by the joint Taskforce indicates that an intelligence-led operation by troops of the Nigerian Army, DSS personnel and Amotekun operatives in Owo Forest, Ondo State, has killed Abdussamad Ohida, also known as Anwar, alongside several members of the terrorist group. The Intelligence reports further says that Ohida was planning attacks on civilians during the forthcoming Yuletide, with the wider objective of disrupting the 2027 general elections. The intelligence, reportedly corroborated by partners from the United Kingdom, triggered the coordinated operation on the terrorists’ forest hideout. Ohida allegedly took over ISWAP activities across parts of the North-Central and Southern regions following the arrest of his former superior, Abu Uwais, in 2023. He was linked to ...

2023: Pastor Tunde Bakare Declares For President

Eminent cleric Tunde Bakare has signalled his interest to run for President in 2023.

In a speech delivered at a virtual meeting on Saturday, Bakare positioned himself as the best person to lead the nation from 2023.

Bakare was running mate of President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2011 presidential elections under the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC).
