  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. Davido’s alleged baby mama Anita apologises to Chioma


Davido alleged baby mama, Anita has apologised to Chioma, the legal wife of afrobeats singer. 

This was after jabs and taunts Anita directed towards Chioma, during which she even called Chioma a “pity wife”.

Anita also engaged in contentious behaviour after making accusations against Chioma. 

A few weeks prior to her public apology, Anita posted an image of an ultrasound scan, claiming to be pregnant with Davido’s child. 

However, quick-thinking Nigerians exposed her fraud by spotting that she took the ultrasound image from Google.

Despite their earlier disagreements and dubious behavior, Anita reached out to Chioma with a sincere apology.

In the statement, she admitted that her previous comments and actions were rooted in hurt and frustration.

“l am going through a tramatic & tragic time in my life. I honestly don’t want to speak on it & don’t need to, or have to speak on it. It’s too much to bear right now. I’m disquieted by all of the events that have taken place. The only thing I will say is i regret that I let my pain and feelings of betrayal allow me to turn me against another woman. 

“So, I apologise to Chioma. I never intended to speak on you or your child. Losing is never a good feeling, being hurrt by someone you love and care about is not a good feeling.

“Moving forward i would prefer to be known for the light i bring into the world. Peace & Love,“ she wrote.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
