  Portable breaks down in tears and apologizes again for slapping preacher Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, broke down in tears as he issued yet another apology following a confrontation with a preacher outside his bar. The singer's apology, which is his second in a row, comes after gospel singer Testimony Jaga gave Portable a three-day ultimatum to apologize to the pastor or face unspecified consequences. The controversial street star explained that his reaction was due to a past traumatic experience involving his sister, who was once attacked by someone posing as a pastor. He added that he would not have slapped the preacher if he knew he was a "true man of God." However, in a recent video, Portable is seen on his knees crying profusely, as he expressed remorse for his actions against the preacher. KESHINRO FLAGS OFF LAGOS NSCDC MONTHLY PUBLIC RELATIONS CLINIC TODAY, ENCOURAGES PARTICIPANTS TO PURSUE CAPACITY BUILDING AND SHUN IMMEDIATE GAIN.



"I will prefer to be an NSCDC officer, if I had wanted to work in any of the security agencies in Nigeria," Ewenla says.


Ewenla gifts two most punctual officers at the clinic Fifty Thousand Naira ( 50,000 ) only, each for possessing the qualities of excellence required of security personnel in this challenging times.


The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command, Mr Adedotun Keshinro, flagged off the Lagos NSCDC PR MONTHLY CLINIC and June Maiden Edition, yesterday, Thursday, 13th June, 2024, at the command's headquarters, in Alahusa, Ikeja.


The aforementioned clinic is an initiative of the Public Relations Unit of the command conceived, to promote the image of the Corps in Lagos State and other far reaching ends across the globe. It also availed opportunities for  Capacity Building, professionalism, hardwork and career growth and development for participants, who were drawn from Departments, Units, Area Commands and Divisions of the command. It was also well attended by very senior officers such as; Deputy Commandants of Corps and Assistant Commandants of Corps.


The Lagos State Commandant was however, represented, by the command's second in command, Deputy Commandant of Corps Eunice Agboola. She appreciated the Public Relations Unit for taking the image of the command to another dimension of progress under the leadership of Mr Adedotun Keshinro. She also commended the initiative and made it clear that the State Commandant will continue to support this legacy for it to remain sustainable while congratulating the entire team for a job weldone.


The theme of the Maiden Edition held earlier yesterday, was captioned, "Challenging Times: The Roles of NSCDC Formations in Stemming the Tides of Insecurity in Lagos Communities." The special lecture was delivered by ESV Ewenla Mustapha, ANIVS, RSV, MNIM, the Head of Practice and Chief Executive Officer of Mustapha Ewenla and Partners. He is also an astute business leader and a seasoned Estate Surveyor and Valuer.


In his lecture, Ewenla identified factors militating against effective security of communities across the country and posited numerous solutions that could ameliorate the challenges completely. He was also concerned about the issue of inactive emergency numbers or lack of it by some very important security agencies across the nation. He mentioned , in his paper,  the untoward experiences of a lot of Nigerians, who have been  bedeviled with the cases of kidnapping, banditry, insurgency, extremism and to say the leat armed robbery amidst others across the country. 


The guest lecturer, Ewenla Mustapha said, " I am in agreement with the writer, who posted that the right to life in relations to human security should be obvious. If one constantly lives in fear that one's life can be taken from him arbitrarily and summarily, he can not fully say he has participated in the society." He made clear instances of his inability and that of many Nigerians to secure jobs from neighboring states or far states from where they are operating from  across the country, without prejudice to any state as a result of insecurity.


Ewenla posited solutions such as learning and retraining of security personnel, attitudinal change, synergy amongst all security agencies, and many more in his paper has ways to stemming the tide of insecurity in our communities. He further praised the NSCDC for a high level of professionalism and zest in carrying out its mandates in the country.

The event also featured a  discussants' session, which was excellently moderated, by Deputy Superintendent of Immigration Ego Osemene, Public Relations Officer, Nigeria Immigration Service, Lagos State Command. The discussants were Deputy Commandant of Corps Fasae Dapo, Head of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure Department, Superintendent of Corps Soetan Kehinde, President Lagos NSCDC Multipurpose Cooperative Society LTD.


The goodwill messages and encomiums were showered on the initiative by very senior officers, who spoke and promised to support the initiative in their own patriotic ways as well as become part of the reason for its sustainability in the command.


The Summary of the entire robust intellectual and interactive engagements by all participants was delivered by Assistant Commandant of Corps Evans Emmanuel from the Administration Department. She also appreciated the guest lecturers, organizers, moderator and all participants present at the clinic yesterday.


The event also honoured, two officers; SC Ashaolu Oluwatosin, female, SC Umar Tenimu, male for their very act of punctuality to the event. They were rewarded with the sum of Fifty Thousand Naira ( N50,000 ) only, each by the guest lecturer, ESV Ewenla Mustapha, who ascribed their attitude to what it means for one to really be an excellent security personnel in this challenging times and with the fact what they have done resonates with  the principles of his firm and success in life.


The vote of thanks was delivered, by the Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Corps Oluwaseun Abolurin. He eulogized the Commandant General, NSCDC, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD, mni, OFR, for all he has done to rejig the image of the Corps in all ramifications across the federation. He also appreciated the Lagos State Commandant, Mr Adedotun Keshinro for its unprecedented and express approval of the initiative, which has now, yielded unimaginable results from its maiden edition and more to come. He further said that the unit will not rest on its oars in the state but however, continue to strive to see the image of the command progressing and solidly built.
