 Osinbajo has not left politics ~ Former aide, Akande. Mr Laolu Akande, a former spokesperson to ex-Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, says there is no reason for anyone to assume that Osinbajo has left politics or resigned from the All Progressives Congress, APC. Akande made this statement during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, on Sunday in Lagos. Recall that Osinbajo has not been active in many political circles since leaving office in 2023, sparking speculations that he may have dumped the APC and politics. The former Vice President contested the APC primary in 2022 but failed to clinch the party’s ticket, losing to President Bola Tinubu. He served as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Lagos State from 1999 to 2007 under Tinubu’s administration as governor. A RARE SITATUNGA ANTELOPE DIES AFTER CHOKING ON A PROHIBITED FOOD PACKAGE AT A TENNESSEE ZOO. (PHOTO).

 A rare Sitatunga Antelope dies after choking on a prohibited food package at a Tennessee zoo.


A Sitatunga Antelope named Leif, passed away Saturday at Bright's Zoo after choking on a container for squeezable apple sauce. 


David Bright, the owner of the zoo, says Leif was very people friendly and curious.  He said if someone threw or handed him something he would check it out. 


Zoo staff noticed he was in distress and had a vet at the facility within 20 minutes, despite their best efforts to remove the package from his throat, Leif passed away.


Bright went on to say that this was the very reason for food restrictions within the park. He reminded everyone there are designated picnic areas for guests to enjoy snacks.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
