 Four people have died after a car was swept away at an overflowing bridge in the Makotopong River near Sebayeng. Police recovered the bodies after a blue Renault Kwid carrying five occupants was pulled into the river during heavy water flow on Sunday morning, 8 March 2026. One passenger escaped from the vehicle and alerted police and emergency services. Police say the car was travelling along the Madiga–Makotopong gravel road when it overturned at the flooded bridge and was dragged into the river. The Provincial Search and Rescue team recovered the first body on Sunday. The victim was identified as Lebapa Petrus Mochitele, 27, from Madiga Village. EMS personnel declared him dead at the scene. Search operations resumed on Monday with the SAPS Water Wing Unit, EMS Search and Rescue, the Fire and Rescue Department, and an EMS helicopter. SHEIK MUHAMMED ALBANI,WIFE AND SON SHOT DEAD BY BOKO HARAM.

       Today sunday,report reaching my desk says a popular muslim cleric,Sheikh Muhammed Albani,his wife and child was shot dead by suspected Boko haram members at Zaria city in Kaduna state.He was said to have criticised the Islamic extremist group.Un identified gun men shot at him and his family at about 10.30pm on saturday in Zaria,as he drove home from teaching a theology classs.His wife and son were immediately hit while the gun men appeared to have dragged the cleric from the car and shot him at close range.He died shortly after he was admitted to the hospital.He was buried today sunday by 10.am.Malam musa mai-shawi an Islamic cleric and also the chieg imam od Drul Hadith,a school established by Albani,to day cautioned people agsinst retaliation attack,following the assasination of Albani.She said this during the funeral prayers,and he also said ''Though the death of Albani was painful,everything should be left to God''.
