“We Don’t Want Violent Politics In Kaduna,” Group Tells Political Parties, Urges Them to Call Supporters To Order The Kaduna Peace Ambassadors Forum has called on political parties in Kaduna State to caution their supporters and prevent further violence following recent clashes involving members of major political parties in the state. The group said Kaduna had enjoyed relative peace for a long period and should not return to an era of violent politics. In a statement, the forum expressed concern that political disagreements and clashes in the past had sometimes escalated into religious conflicts, with consequences for communities across the state. It therefore called on security agencies to take appropriate measures to identify and hold accountable those responsible for the recent clashes, while strengthening preventive measures to avoid a recurrence. Today sunday,report reaching my desk says a popular muslim cleric,Sheikh Muhammed Albani,his wife and child was shot dead by suspected Boko haram members at Zaria city in Kaduna state.He was said to have criticised the Islamic extremist group.Un identified gun men shot at him and his family at about 10.30pm on saturday in Zaria,as he drove home from teaching a theology classs.His wife and son were immediately hit while the gun men appeared to have dragged the cleric from the car and shot him at close range.He died shortly after he was admitted to the hospital.He was buried today sunday by 10.am.Malam musa mai-shawi an Islamic cleric and also the chieg imam od Drul Hadith,a school established by Albani,to day cautioned people agsinst retaliation attack,following the assasination of Albani.She said this during the funeral prayers,and he also said ''Though the death of Albani was painful,everything should be left to God''.
