  BENUE STATE POLICE COMMAND  PRESS RELEASE  18TH APRIL ,2025   SANKERA ATTACK: POLICE ACTION On  17/4/2025  at about 2100hrs, information was received that a large number of  suspected militia had invaded  Sankera axis of Benue state with intention to attack communities around Gbagir, Ukum Local Government Area.  Upon receipt of this report, the Commissioner of Police, Benue State Police command, CP. Steve H. Yabanet FCID, psc (+)  ordered tactical teams to move to the area and join forces with police officers on ground and other security agencies to forestall the attack.  Following this order, a team of officers moved to the area and engaged them. 29 PEOPLE DEAD IN TWO ATTACKS IN KENYAN COAST SATURDAY EVENING.

           According to Kenyan Interior Ministry,Gunmen killed at least 29 people in raids on two separate areas on the Kenyan Coast.The al Shabaab,staged an attack on saturday evening in the coastal area.Nine people lost their lives at the Hindi trading centre in Lamu country,near the scene of attacks in which 65 people were killed last month.Another 20 people were killed in another attack in the Gamba area of neighbouring Tana River county.Both counties are situated north of the port of Mombasa..

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
