 Malian army withdraws from key Tessalit military camp: sources Mali’s army and its Russian mercenary allies have surrendered Camp Tessalit, a strategic military post in the north, multiple sources told the AFP news agency on Friday. An official from the Tuareg-led separatist group claimed soldiers and mercenaries at the camp had "surrendered", following a fierce fight over the weekend. Simultaneous attacks in Mali by militants linked to Al Qaeda and separatist Tuareg rebels on April 25 showed how fighters ​from different groups with different goals were able to strike at the heart of the West African country's military government. Gunfire and explosions were reported in the capital Bamako and around a large military base outside the capital, as well as Gao and central areas, as gunfire continuing in the northern city of Kidal. 30 CIVIL SERVANTS OF THE LAGOS MINISTRY OF JUSTICE,ARRESTED AFTER ARMED ROBBERS STOLE N3M YESTERDAY.

                      At least 30 civil servants have been arrested and detained at the Alausa police station in connection with the robbery yesterday friday.Armed robbers at the early hours of friday broke into the Lagos state Ministry of Justice Alausa,and ran away with N3,million.The robbers were said to gained access into the department through the ceiling while security men,including policemen were on duty and carted away large sum of money that was meant for the payment of allowances for non employees of the Lagos state Government who assisted the state in rendering free invaluable services.Sources blamed the robbery on an insider who would have given information about the availability of funds in the ministry.Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary,Ministry of Justice,Lawal Pedro said the incident occurred at night,adding that the police have arrested 30 staff for questioning over the robbery.According to him,the police would screen those arrested and ensure that the culprit were brought to book,wondering how robbers could gain access to the building without an insider giving out information.One more photo below.
