 PRESS RELEASE  FG TO PRIORITIZE  RESOURCE ALLOCATION IN THE FACE OF LOW OIL PRICES The Federal Government of Nigeria will pursue diversification of its revenues and adopt greater prudent resource allocation measures to mitigate the impact of low oil prices should it continue, according to Mr. Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy. Speaking at a meeting with investors during the ongoing IMF/World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington DC yesterday, Mr Wale Edun emphasized that with the recent reforms embarked upon by the present administration, Nigeria is better positioned to deal with global economic uncertainties. 50 SOLDIERS DEAD,AS AL-SHABAAB MILITANTS ATTACKED AN AFRICAN UNION BASE IN SOMALIA TODAY.

                        Early today tuesday,Al-shabaab militants attacked an African Union {AU} base in southern Somalia killing dozens of soldiers.One of the Alshabaab fighters rammed a car bomb into the base and then gunmen poured inside the facility run by the AU peacekeeping mission in Somalia,AMISOM.50 peacekeepers were killed in the attack on Janale base,about 90km south of the capital Mogadishu.Sheikh Abdiasis Abu Musab,Al Shabaab's military operations spokesman,told pressmen that ''Now Janale base of AMISOM is under our control''.Though the AU peacekeeping force said via Twitter without giving details on the casualties.''AMISOM can confirm that the base is still under AMISOM control.Reports that the base has been taken over and our weapons captured are false''.According to a Somali military officer Captain Bilow Idow ,who is based in a town near Janale said ''The Janale base was effectively cut off as the militants had destroyed a nearby bridge.No reinforcement can reach there.There is much death and damage''.
