PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS AMBASSADOR ENIKANOLAIYE ON HIS BIRTHDAY President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, on his birthday. A statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, indicates that the President describes Ambassador Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat, accomplished administrator and dedicated public servant whose career reflects professionalism, patriotism and a deep commitment to Nigeria. Ambassador Enikanolaiye served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from August 1982 to August 2017, rising through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary. He later served as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations before he was appointed Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. Today friday,at least 27 people were reportedly dead after Malian commandos stormed a luxury hotel identified as Radisson Blu hotel at Bamako with at least 170 people inside,many of them foreigners,that had been seized by Islamist gunmen.Later on 73 people were released and security forces are now trying to make their way through the Hotel.Another source said 18 bodies were found in the building ,then two attackers have been killed.Special forces teams have been moving through the hotel floor by floor,freeing hostages.The assailants had gathered on the seventh floor,while on lookers say they heard sporadic gunfire as the hostages situation continued.By late afternoon,ministerial adviser Amadou Sangho told a French television station BFMTV that no more hostages were being held.More photos below.
