 Guinea-Bissau stops vaccine study funded by Trump administration Guinea-Bissau's foreign minister has said his government has stopped a study funded by the Trump administration aiming to evaluate side effects of the life-saving hepatitis B vaccine, including any links to autism. The West African country, one of the region's poorest, has high rates of hepatitis B, and the prospective study had drawn an outcry from scientists and international health bodies because only half the newborns in the trial would get the vaccine at birth. World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus said it was not ethical. Guinea-Bissau last month suspended the trial pending an ethical review. Critics had said it was being used to test theories linking vaccines to autism, long promoted by U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr but contradicted by scientific evidence.                       Yesterday tuesday,the spokes man for the Rebels Noureddine Adam confirmed that their leader has declared an autonomous state in his northeastern stroghold after rejecting elections this month that are aimed at ending years of bloodshed.''The Republic of Logone was proclaimed December 14 in the town of Kaga-Bandoro.What we want first of all is autonomy.Then we'll look at how to move towards independence''.The spokesman for Central African Republic's transitional government immediately denounced the rebel's declaration,''We call upon the international community and the international forces present in Central African Republic tp do everything possible to neutralize the capacity to do harm of these terrorists''.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
