 There was no evidence that he slept with the girl” – Yomi Fabiyi gives update on Baba Ijesha’s case Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has given an update on embattled Yoruba actor Baba Ijesha’s case. Refreshing your memory, Baba Ijesha was arrested and sentenced to 5 years imprisonment for raping a minor, who is the adopted daughter of comedian Princess. Giving an update on the case in a recent interview, he said Baba Ijesha’s appeal process is still ongoing in court. He claimed that there was no evidence that he slept with the hole; hence, the judge didn’t sentence him to life imprisonment. Yomi stated that Princess called Baba Ijesha to shoot a skit, and the girl also made a similar statement in court. He added that woman,just like their male counterparts,are equally endowed by God and should therefore be empowered as of right.Speaking with journalists,the Ogun State Commissioner for Urban and Physical Planning,Mrs Ronke Sokefun,charged women not to box themselves into a cage but come out and think like men while acting and looking like women.On her part,the Consultant to the Governor on power,Mrs Ronke Onadeko,affirmed that women have proven,overtime,to be good managers of resources.She added that research,over the years have proven that companies that have more women on their board are usually more successful.Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade and Investment,Mrs Hafsat Abiola-Costello,om her part commended the Governor for even going beyond the requirement of the Beijing affirmative action for women inclusion in governance.She encouraged men to embrace,support and challenge women to do more rather than see their inclusion as a threat.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
