The Government categorically refutes claims of lopsidedness and emphasizes its unwavering commitment to the principles of fairness, equity, and national unity. All appointments are made in strict adherence to federal character principle, as enshrined in Section 14 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as Altered).       His Excellency, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura Governor of Nasarawa state has approved the appointment of Yakubu Lamai as the Director General Strategic Communications and Press Affairs to the Executive Governor which effect from Thursday, 26th July,2018. Yakubu functions is to interact with the citizens, organization and communities on
behalf of the Governor and speak on public policy issues which emanate from the Governor and also conduct appropriate liaison with Media Organization and related associations in providing a comprehensive media and corporate management strategy for the government. Before Now, Lamai a season broadcaster, filmmaker and a writer. Yakubu holds an MFA in Film from Ohio University and a Master degree in international Affairs and strategic studies from the Nigeria Defence Academy among an array of academic qualifications.Yakubu promised to put all his wealth of experience to deliver his duty for the good will of the people of Nasarawa state.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
