 FRSC CONFIRMS FATAL CRASH THAT KILLED 12 VICTIMS AT GADA BIYU ALONG YANGOJI–ABUJA CORRIDOR The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has confirmed a fatal multiple vehicle road traffic crash that claimed twelve lives at about 1145hrs on Sunday, 11 January 2026, at Gada Biyu, along the Yangoji–Abuja (YGJ–ABJ) corridor. According to a statement signed by the Corps Public Education Officer, Segun Ogungbemide, The crash involved four vehicles: one commercial trailer conveying coal, one commercial bus, and two commercial cars.  Preliminary investigations revealed that the incident could have been caused by speed violation and dangerous driving which led to loss of control. Further information gathered indicated that the truck driver was driving at an excessive speed beyond the legally prescribed limit for the corridor, lost control, and crashed into already parked vehicles, triggering the fatal collision. THREE ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN OGUN.[PHOTO].

     The Ogun state police command has arrested three members of an armed robbery syndicate.
A statement from the command says the suspects were arrested on May 24 following a distress call received by the DPO Agbara division that armed robbers have invaded Idanyin community and have been raiding house to house dispossessing their victims of their belongings and inflicting injuries on them. .
Upon the distress call, the DPO Agbara division SP Saleh Dahiru quickly led his anti-robbery team to the scene and met the robbers attacking the apartments of one Barrister Kamieyefa Omosivwe and that of Oluyemi Olajide.
On sighting the police, the robbers launched an attack but were overpowered by the officers. Three members of the gang were eventually arrested with one injured, while one of them escaped. .The police gave the names of the arrested members as Toheed Salami, Ibrahim Ismaila and Michael Abiodun, and stated that the injured victim has been taken to the hospital for medical attention.
Items recovered from them include two locally made short guns. .
Meanwhile, the commissioner of police CP Kenneth Ebrimson has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to special anti-robbery squads SARS for discreet investigation.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
