 FG MOVES TO CUT EDUCATION COSTS, PROMOTE SUSTAINABILITY WITH REUSABLE TEXTBOOK POLICY The Federal Government of Nigeria has unveiled a comprehensive policy framework aimed at reducing the cost of education for parents, improving learning outcomes, and promoting sustainability in schools through the adoption of reusable, high-quality textbooks and strengthened quality assurance mechanisms. The policy, jointly issued by the Honourable Minister of Education  Dr Maruf Tunji Alausa and the Honourable Minister of State for Education Prof Suiwaba Sai'd, forms part of ongoing reforms to reposition Nigeria’s education sector and ease the financial burden on families. The Ministers explained that the policy prioritises the use of standardised, durable textbooks designed to last between four and six years, while expressly prohibiting the bundling of disposable workbooks with textbooks in schools. OWNER OF RECOVERED SUV ABANDONED UNDER OTEDOLA BRIDGE HAS SHOWN UP TO RECOVER HIS CAR- POLICE. (PHOTOS).#PRESS RELEASE.

The owner of the recovered SUV, 4Matic GL 450 with the registration number KUJ 384 LY under Otedola Bridge yesterday showed up two hours ago.

He said he was attacked by traffic robbers after a stop to check his shaking rear tyre. 

He abandoned the vehicle there to escape.

All confirmations done and vehicle along with valuables have been handed over to him while CSP Yinka Egbeyemi  has directed RRS Decoy Team to arrest those involved in the attack.


EARLIER REPORT 

Officials of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) on patrol at about 10:00 p.m. yesterday recovered an SUV, 4matic GL 450 with the registration number KUJ 384 LY under Otedola bridge.

The car's engine was running and driver's side door opened with no occupant. In the car were travelling bags and laptop.

The Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi has directed the decoy team to commence preliminary investigation immediately.

Whoever has information about the owner of the vehicle should kindly contact RRS HQ, Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
