 A Mother's Day Nightmare in Princeton, Illinois. A 3-year-old boy was struck by gunfire as police burst into a barricaded room, ending a frightening hostage situation. Multiple agencies responded to the Hummingbird Mobile Home Park in Princeton, Illinois, on Sunday, May 10th at 2:42 a.m. The initial call went out as a domestic disturbance but officers discovered much worse.  42-year-old, Anthony Rodriguez, had barricaded himself in a room armed with a knife. Anthony had taken several people as hostages, including Aurora Almanza and her 3-year-old son.  Multiple agencies were on the scene, including the Bureau County Sheriff's Office, Illinois State Police and  the Princeton Police Department.  Authorities attempted to negotiate but ultimately rushed the room when they heard screaming coming from inside.  Officials have reported that officers fired shots as they entered the room. Anambra born professor Okeke sets word record:Gets elevated at Oxford

Anambra born Chike Okeke -Agulu,a leading academic in the United States, of Princeton University, has  assumed duties as distinguished Professor at Oxford University London.


Professor Okeke-Agulu hails from Umuoji in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.


Oxford University,one of the oldest and prestigious educational institutions in the world, established in 1096 by the single gesture has again placed Anambra State and indeed Nigeria on the global academic reckoning.


This hardwork, diligence and perseverance leading to this global elevation underscores  the present administration of Governor Chukwuma  Soludo's positive disposition to human resources development, projection of the ndi Anambra spirit of hardwork, professionalism and excellence anywhere in the global space.


Professor Okeke-Agulu's assumption of duties at the most respected university in the world is therefore an honour well deserved to himself, the African Continent, Nigeria and Anambra State in particular. 


The government and people of Anambra State are  proud of this honour

 an attestation to the fact that hard work pays .

recalled that, Professor Chika Okeke-Agulu is the first African to hold this position since the chair was endowed in 1870.#
