The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is set to hold an emergency meeting to address the uncertainty surrounding the future of Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle. According to sources, Chelle is considering terminating his contract as the team's manager. The development comes amidst Nigeria's struggles to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. With only seven points from six games, the Super Eagles are currently fourth in Group C, behind leaders South Africa, Rwanda, and Benin Republic. Pressure has been mounting on Chelle, prompting him to travel to Europe in search of reinforcements to bolster the team's defense. However, the uncertainty surrounding his future with the team has reportedly led to a change of heart, with Chelle now considering terminating his contract. The NFF's emergency meeting aims to address the situation and find a resolution. The fate of Chelle and the Super Eagles' World Cup qualifying campaign hang in the balance.

Bring Ekpa To Nigeria To Sit-at-Home With Us, Uzodimma Urges FG, Military

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo state has reiterated the need to restore peace and end insurgency in the southeast.

The governor also called for the extradition of Finland-based separatist Simon Ekpa over the illegal Monday sit-at-home order.

He appealed to the Federal Government to collaborate with the Finnish Government to extradite Ekpa to Nigeria for prosecution.

He disclosed this during a familiarisation visit from the new General Officer Commanding GOC, 82 Division, Enugu, Major General Hassan Dada, at the Government House in Owerri, the Imo state capital.

He said:

ā€œWhat is topmost in our cases is this popular sit-at-home order. Thereā€™s one man called Simon Ekpa somewhere in Finland.

ā€œIt is our hope that the security agencies, particularly the military, working with the Federal Government, will be able to either bring Simon Ekpa back to Nigeria to also sit at home with us or be made to face the wrath of the law.ā€

He also spoke on the negative effect of the illegal sit-at-home orders, promising the new GOC and his team his support and that of the people of Imo state.
