 France records first Ebola case in doctor returning from DR Congo France confirmed its first imported Ebola case after a humanitarian doctor returned from a mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Health Ministry said Wednesday, Anadolu Agency reported. The patient, who had returned from an area where the virus is circulating in Congo, was immediately admitted to a specialised healthcare facility and is in stable condition, the ministry said in a statement. “All precautionary measures, including the patient's isolation, were taken upon his arrival in the country,” it added, saying the transfer to hospital was carried out under secure conditions to prevent any risk of contamination. French health authorities said a full epidemiological investigation is underway to identify people who may have been in contact with the patient. Simon Ekpa invites Southeast Governors, Leaders to Biafra Convention

Simon Ekpa, a popular Biafra agitator and Separatist, has sent invitation messages to southeast governors and other leaders to the Biafra Convention in Finland.

Ekpa, the Finland-based lawyer and Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government, disclosed this through his official Twitter handle on Wednesday.

According to him, the event will be the first-ever gathering of Biafrans in Finland.

He stated that the convention would be the best opportunity for the governors and leaders to meet up with him.

“We are inviting South East Governors, Senator Abaribe, Iwuanyanwu, Ifeanyi Uba and others to our Biafra Self Referendum Convention 2023 in Finland. Since they are looking for a way to see Simon Ekpa. Here is an opportunity to see him. No representatives will be allowed; you must come in person”, he wrote.

Earlier, he announced that the convention would commence in October 2023.
