 RE: MISLEADING CLAIMS REGARDING EXTORTION OF MOTORISTS BY LAGOS STATE TASKFORCE – YET-TO-BE-IDENTIFIED SECURITY OPERATIVES: ANOTHER CASE OF MISTAKEN IDENTITY The Lagos State Taskforce wishes to address a misleading narrative circulating on social media, particularly in a viral video shared by protesters and concerned groups who recently demonstrated at the Lagos State House of Assembly. The protest was in response to the alleged extortion of motorists by security operatives, yet to be identified, who are not officials of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit. We categorically state that the Lagos State Taskforce had no involvement in the said incident. FG ARRAIGNS MIYETTI ALLAH LEADER BODEJO. (PHOTO).

 FG arraigns Miyetti Allah leader Bodejo


A leader of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore group, Bello Bodejo has been arraigned before a Federal High Court in Abuja for allegedly establishing and supporting unlawfully an ethnic militia group – Kungiya Zaman Lafiya.

Bodejo was arraigned on Friday on a three-count charge filed by the office of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), in which he was accused of violating the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022.

Bodejo pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him, following which Justice Inyang Ekwo ordered that he be further detained in the custody of the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA).

Justice Ekwo adjourned till May 27 for the commencement of trial.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
