 PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS AMBASSADOR ENIKANOLAIYE ON HIS BIRTHDAY   President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, on his birthday.    A statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, indicates that the President describes Ambassador Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat, accomplished administrator and dedicated public servant whose career reflects professionalism, patriotism and a deep commitment to Nigeria.   Ambassador Enikanolaiye served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from August 1982 to August 2017, rising through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary. A TEEN LOSES BOTH HER LEGS AFTER BEING STRUCK BY A TRAIN. (PHOTO).

 Granite City, Illinois teen loses both legs after being struck by a train.


13-year-old Serenity McMillan was crossing the tracks near the 2900 block of Missouri Avenue on April 5th when tragedy struck.


In an instant, this happy and bubbly Coolidge Junior High cheerleader's life was inexorably changed.


Serenity attempted to cross the tracks but was either unaware of the impending danger or miscalculated the train's speed.


Sadly this young lady was struck by the train. When first responders arrived on scene, Serenity was deemed as having life threatening injuries. 


She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she unfortunately and ultimately lost both of her legs. 


In light of this horrible accident the town of Granite City pulled together in an amazing display of community and has raised nearly $10,000 for the family.


However with such life altering injuries there is no limit to the expenses this family will face and a GoFundMe is still active if anyone wishes to donate.


Mayor Michael Parkinson has publicly commended the actions of the first responders saying , "I'm not sure she'd be here without them". 


This is truly a tragic ordeal for Serenity and her family and they are in our thoughts. Keep fighting Serenity we are now the ones cheering you on! The sky is the limit!
