 Texas woman charged with medical child abuse for falsifying toddler’s health and pushing unnecessary feeding tube surgeries A Texas woman has been charged with medical child abuse after allegedly falsifying her toddler’s medical history to pressure doctors into performing unnecessary procedures, including feeding tube surgeries, in what authorities are calling a “sickening” case. Kaitlyn Rose Laura, 31, faces charges of injury to a child and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Officials said she deliberately misled medical staff about her 3-year-old son’s health to obtain a gastrostomy tube and later a gastrojejunostomy tube, despite no documented medical need. Investigators allege that hospital staff observed the boy eating normally while Laura claimed he refused all food. Covert surveillance confirmed the child was able to eat meals without difficulty, prompting authorities to stop tube feedings.  APC will claim Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta, A’Ibom – Akpabio


Senate President, Godswill Akpabio has disclosed why he defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Akpabio said he defected to APC to ensure that the ruling party claims all the states in the South South ahead of the 2027 elections.

The Senate President spoke while receiving Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State at his residence in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital.

In a statement by his Special Assistant on Media and Communication, Anietie Ekong, Akpabio said winning the states would change the developmental trajectory of the South South region for good.

He said: “Under the APC administration, many of us decided there was need for us to change the political basket to enable us to represent our people at the national level and also have a say in what was going on in the country.

“So, when I made that strong movement to the APC, it was to move our people in the South South region to the centre.

“With the current political permutations, going by all available indices, the ruling APC is poised to bring more states into its fold.”

The PDP controls Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta States, while the APC controls only Edo State.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity.
