 ‘Empty barrels’ – Otti dismisses Uzor Kalu, Orji, Ikpeazu opposition gang-up Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has urged Abians to disregard recent remarks by some leaders of the opposition in the state. Governor Otti who was speaking on Saturday at Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Umuoriehi, Umuahia North LGA, during the dedication of the church building, said that those who are gathering against him were the same people that failed to develop the state in the past. Otti was reacting to an alliance formed against his re-election by former Abia governors Orji Uzor Kalu, Theodore Orji and Okezie Ikpeazu. The governor slammed the opposition members for pursuing personal interest above the collective development of Abia, declaring that every gathering they are making against him would collapse. A young Nigerian woman, Hauwa Haruna has passed away a day after her wedding. 


 


Hauwa, from Bakeko community in Katcha Local Government Area of Niger state, got married on Friday, December 27, 2024 and d!ed on Saturday, December 28.


 

 

A Facebook user, Jibrin Ndana confirmed the sad news in a post on Sunday, December 29, after paying a condolence visit to the deceased’s parents.

 

 

According to him, Hauwa’s father revealed that she had been ill but insisted on proceeding with her wedding. 

 

“Tragic Demise of Hauwa Haruna. On December 28, 2024, I paid a condolence visit to the family of late Hauwa Haruna, a resident of Kofar Banwuya Takolatsu, Bida, Niger State,” he wrote. 

 

“According to her biological father, Mallam Haruna, Hauwa had been ill but was responding to treatment. 

 

“Despite her condition, she insisted on proceeding with her wedding, which was scheduled for Friday, December 27, 2024.

 

“Tragically, Hauwa passed away on December 28, 2024, just a day after her wedding. She hailed from the Bakeko Community under Katcha Local Government Area of Niger State. May Allah grant her soul eternal rest in Al-Janatul Firdaus.”

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
