 A priest in Anambra State wedded a couple yesterday, despite disputes with the bride’s father In a video circulating online, the Reverend Father narrated that The father of the bride who is from Nteje had insisted that the wedding should not take place unless his daughter swøre never to associate with his mother whom he has a quarrel with. The conflict arose from past marriage issues between the father and her mother. Before the wedding, the father repeatedly met with the priest, warning that he had already taken the bride's mother to a deity and that the girl must follow him to the shrine to appease that deity before the marriage can go on. For peace to prevail, the priest advised the couple to comply with all the father’s requests so the wedding could proceed, the priest even donated some of the items that the brides father told her to bring to use in appeasing the deity. A young Nigerian woman, Hauwa Haruna has passed away a day after her wedding. 


 


Hauwa, from Bakeko community in Katcha Local Government Area of Niger state, got married on Friday, December 27, 2024 and d!ed on Saturday, December 28.


 

 

A Facebook user, Jibrin Ndana confirmed the sad news in a post on Sunday, December 29, after paying a condolence visit to the deceased’s parents.

 

 

According to him, Hauwa’s father revealed that she had been ill but insisted on proceeding with her wedding. 

 

“Tragic Demise of Hauwa Haruna. On December 28, 2024, I paid a condolence visit to the family of late Hauwa Haruna, a resident of Kofar Banwuya Takolatsu, Bida, Niger State,” he wrote. 

 

“According to her biological father, Mallam Haruna, Hauwa had been ill but was responding to treatment. 

 

“Despite her condition, she insisted on proceeding with her wedding, which was scheduled for Friday, December 27, 2024.

 

“Tragically, Hauwa passed away on December 28, 2024, just a day after her wedding. She hailed from the Bakeko Community under Katcha Local Government Area of Niger State. May Allah grant her soul eternal rest in Al-Janatul Firdaus.”

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
