 Four people have died after a car was swept away at an overflowing bridge in the Makotopong River near Sebayeng. Police recovered the bodies after a blue Renault Kwid carrying five occupants was pulled into the river during heavy water flow on Sunday morning, 8 March 2026. One passenger escaped from the vehicle and alerted police and emergency services. Police say the car was travelling along the Madiga–Makotopong gravel road when it overturned at the flooded bridge and was dragged into the river. The Provincial Search and Rescue team recovered the first body on Sunday. The victim was identified as Lebapa Petrus Mochitele, 27, from Madiga Village. EMS personnel declared him dead at the scene. Search operations resumed on Monday with the SAPS Water Wing Unit, EMS Search and Rescue, the Fire and Rescue Department, and an EMS helicopter.  Tension in Sunny Ade’s Family Over Music Legend’s Whereabouts


Concerns have emerged among the children of juju icon King Sunny Ade (KSA) over his safety and accessibility, with his daughter Damilola Esther accusing her stepbrother, Dayo, of holding their father hostage and mismanaging his affairs.


Damilola, in a series of social media posts, alleged that Dayo—who she described as KSA’s manager—was booking shows without honoring them and keeping the music legend out of reach.


In response, Dayo denied the allegations, stating KSA is healthy and actively performing, with a show scheduled in Akure on May 1. He clarified that he is not KSA’s official manager but only assisting temporarily.


Another son, David, also dismissed Damilola’s claims, affirming their father is fine. However, journalist Olawale Olaleye noted KSA has become difficult to reach, adding to the ongoing family tension.
