 THREE-MONTH AMNESTY:  LASG REDUCES COST OF REPLACING FADED NUMBER PLATES TO ₦20,000 The Lagos State Government has approved a temporary reduction in the cost of replacing faded and damaged vehicle number plates from ₦30,000 to ₦20,000, as part of a three-month amnesty and rebate window running from January to March 2026. The initiative, approved by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, applies to both private and commercial vehicle owners across the State and is aimed at improving vehicle identification, strengthening security architecture and enhancing overall road safety. The Permanent Secretary, Motor Vehicle Administration Agency (MVAA), Mr. Rasheed Muri-Okunola, disclosed that the rebate is a deliberate and citizen-focused intervention designed to encourage motorists to voluntarily replace faded, worn or illegible number plates at a significantly reduced cost.  Senator Nwebonyi distributes educational materials to schools in Ebonyi ahead of school resumption.


The Senate Deputy Chief Whip and Senator representing Ebonyi North, Onyekachi Nwebonyi, on Saturday distributed educational materials worth millions of naira to schools in Ebonyi North senatorial zone, saying that the gesture was toward promoting quality education and learning in the zone.


Performing the distribution at Ohaukwu Local Government Headquarters, Sen. Nwebonyi thanked Governor Francis Nwifuru for providing an enabling environment for the growth of education in the state, noting that his effort is to complement the efforts of the state government.


The items, include school desks, writing materials, and textbooks, which will be supplied to schools across Ebonyi North senatorial district.


He noted that the procured 2,000 units of 3-in-1 desks will provide seating for about 6,000 pupils in both primary and secondary schools, adding that the exercise books, English and Mathematics textbooks, and other writing materials were distributed to students.
