 IGP DECLARES OPEN 2025 NIGERIA POLICE PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICERS’ CONFERENCE …Tasks PPROs on strategic communication, combating misinformation The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, on Monday, December 8, 2025, declared open the 2025 Annual Conference of Police Public Relations Officers (PPROs) of the Nigeria Police Force, held at the Police Resource Centre, Abuja. In his keynote address, the IGP described the annual conference as “a strategic national engagement and a critical platform for strengthening police-public communication, shaping national narratives constructively, and deepening trust between the Police and citizens.” He emphasised that modern-day policing is increasingly defined by public trust, transparency, and the quality of communication between law enforcement agencies and the public, noting that the Public Relations Officers remain central to institutional credibility.  2 ARRESTED IN KOGI FOR ALLEGEDLY SUPPLYING FOOD, LOGISTICS TO BANDITS

Security operatives in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State have arrested two men accused of supplying food and other essential items to bandits reportedly hiding in a nearby forest.


The suspects, identified as Abayo David and David Bori, both from Itedo-Ijowa, Isanlu in Yagba East LGA, were apprehended around 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday by members of the Yagba West Hunters and Vigilante Group during a routine patrol.


According to reports, the operatives recovered various items suspected to be intended for criminal gangs operating within the forest. The suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue.
