 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  60-year-old American woman dies during visit to boyfriend in Warri


A 60-year-old American woman, Jacqueline Bolling Elton, has died in Warri, Delta State.

She was said to have given up in the house of a 39-year-old man, Alawode Olaide, her boyfriend, who she came from America to visit.

Elton was said to have arrived Warri on September 15 to spend time with Olaide who she met on social media.

Reports indicated that on September 29, at 3:00 pm, she suddenly took ill and was rushed to a private hospital in Otokutu, near Warri.

“She was later referred to Central Hospital, Warri, where doctors confirmed her dead on arrival.

“Her remains have been deposited at the Central Hospital Mortuary for autopsy. The incident was reported to police authorities, who visited the scene and arrested Olaide for interrogation,” a source revealed.

The source also said the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, for further investigation.

Delta Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, when contacted, confirmed the development.

He also confirmed the boyfriend’s arrest, adding that investigation is ongoing.
