 ‘Empty barrels’ – Otti dismisses Uzor Kalu, Orji, Ikpeazu opposition gang-up Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has urged Abians to disregard recent remarks by some leaders of the opposition in the state. Governor Otti who was speaking on Saturday at Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Umuoriehi, Umuahia North LGA, during the dedication of the church building, said that those who are gathering against him were the same people that failed to develop the state in the past. Otti was reacting to an alliance formed against his re-election by former Abia governors Orji Uzor Kalu, Theodore Orji and Okezie Ikpeazu. The governor slammed the opposition members for pursuing personal interest above the collective development of Abia, declaring that every gathering they are making against him would collapse.  Driver filmed flogging FRSC officer during traffic stop.


A dramatic video captured a driver using a whip (koboko) to flog an officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) who stopped him at a traffic stop.


The video circulating on X shows an FRSC officer and the driver pushing each other before the driver uses the whip on the officer.


Other uniformed FRSC officers intervene at this moment to separate the driver from their colleague. 


"Because you tried to collect money from him and he didn't give, you used the plastic (traffic safety cone) in your hand to hit him at the steering," a voice is heard narrating the incident that angered the driver and led to him flogging the FRSC officer.


The confrontation between the driver and FRSC officer has sparked fresh debate about law enforcement practices on Nigeria’s roads.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
