 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  Gov. Uba Sani Meets APC Stakeholders To Strengthen Party Unity


Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, CON, has met with stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Kaduna Zone Two in a strategic engagement aimed at strengthening party unity, reinforcing internal cohesion, and repositioning the party for sustained relevance and future electoral success.


The meeting, which was well attended, provided a platform for reflection, renewal, and constructive dialogue among party leaders. 


Discussions focused on reviewing the party’s progress, identifying areas requiring renewed attention, and aligning strategies to better serve the people of Kaduna State.


Governor Sani urged party members to remain united, disciplined, and committed to the shared ideals of the APC, emphasizing that unity remains the party’s greatest strength. 


He also called for active participation in the ongoing APC electronic membership registration exercise to deepen grassroots engagement and strengthen party structures.


The governor later received members of the Kaduna State APC E-Registration Committee, who briefed him on the progress of the exercise across the state.


He expressed satisfaction with the level of turnout, noting that Kaduna State is on course to achieve its target of 2.5 million registered members within days of the commencement of the exercise.


Governor Sani said the progress recorded reflects growing public confidence in the APC and aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. 


He also acknowledged commendations from stakeholders on his administration’s commitment to fairness, equity, justice, peace, and security, as well as ongoing efforts to rebuild public trust in governance.
