U.S announces visa curbs for some foreign nationals in South Africa Secretary of State Marco Rubio ‌said on Tuesday the U.S. government was announcing a new visa restriction policy targeting some foreign nationals in South Africa. The policy targets "foreign nationals who are responsible for, or complicit in, the enactment or implementation of laws or policies that enable uncompensated land seizures, race-based discrimination, and/or the incitement of imminent violence against members of minority ethnic or racial ‌groups in South Africa," Rubio said in a statement. "The South African government has not adequately addressed the previously laid out concerns," Rubio said, Reuters reported.  CW drops 2026 Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants from broadcast lineup days before competitions

The CW has dropped the 2026 Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants from its broadcast schedule just days before the competitions were set to crown this year’s winners.

The network and Miss USA organization had announced a multiyear broadcasting partnership in 2024. The agreement was expected to run through the 2026 competitions, which were to mark the 75th anniversary of Miss USA. The pageants aired on The CW in 2024 but were absent from the network’s schedule in 2025.

In June, the organizations announced that both competitions would return to The CW this year. Miss Teen USA was scheduled for Aug. 26, followed by the Miss USA 75th Diamond Celebration on Aug. 27. Both broadcasts were set for 8 to 10 p.m. Eastern.

The network has since replaced those programs with other programming. The CW confirmed that it decided not to air either pageant following discussions with the Miss USA organization.

The Miss USA organization said the change resulted from a contractual issue involving production arrangements that could not be resolved in time. It did not provide additional details.

Instead, viewers will be able to watch the competitions through the Queen Beauty Network, which plans to stream the events for free.

The organization said 51 contestants in each competition, representing all 50 states and the District of Columbia, will compete in Miami, Florida, for the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA titles.
