BAUCHI STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE FOUR SUSPECTS ARRESTED OVER FARMER-HERDER CLASH IN NINGI LGA THAT CLAIMED ONE LIFE Following the unfortunate farmer-herder clash at Guda Village in Ningi Local Government Area, the Command wishes to inform the public that four suspects have now been arrested in connection with the incident. On 23rd September, 2026 at about 0740hrs, three farmers from Guda Village went to their farms on Guda Hill and found cattle belonging to a herder grazing on and destroying their crops. They chased the cattle to the herders' settlement where an argument ensued and degenerated into a fight. In the process, the three farmers sustained injuries. Sadly, in retaliation, some youths from Guda Village mobilized and set ablaze houses at the herders settlement. Operatives from Ningi Division responded promptly, restored normalcy and evacuated the injured to General Hospital Ningi.  The Lagos State Government would like to, once again, acknowledge with deep regret the unfortunate elevator accident of Tuesday, 1st August 2023 at the House Officer’s residence of the General Hospital, Odan, which resulted in the death of Dr. Vwaere Diaso, a vibrant young house officer. We commiserate with her family and her colleagues and pray for the repose of her soul. As a Government, we feel the pain of this irreparable loss. May The Almighty console them and give them the strength to go through this difficult time. The Lagos State Government, in recognition of the importance of providing functional and comfortable accommodation for health workers, outsourced the management of the House Officers Quarters to a facility management company. The Lagos State Infrastructure and Asset Management Agency (LASIAMA) oversees the activities of the facility management company. Trigger Happy Policeman Shoots Man Dead At Elekehia Bar In Front Of His Wife And Children Ogona Anita Ogona Anita The Rivers State Police Command says it has arrested a Police Officer, attached to the Police Mobile Force (PMF) 43 squadron Gombe state over the killing of one Mr Olafuro Peterside at Elekehia area in Port Harcourt on the 3rd of August, 2023. Mr. Peterside who is  married with children was hit by a stray bullet from the gun of the officer at a popular bar in Elekehia. The spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe Koko confirmed the incident to newsmen at the Police Headquarters in Moscow Road in Port Harcourt. SP Iringe Koko said the deceased man was with his wife and three children when the Police Officer shot into air in response to an alarm raised by some persons that there were robbers around the area. Subsidy: Schools to reduce activities to cut costs — NAPPS 6th Aug 2023  The National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) has disclosed that they have concluded plans to reduce school activities that are not directly necessary to cut costs. The National President of NAPPS, Chief Abayomi Otubela, who stated this at the groundbreaking ceremony of N800 million NAPPS National Secretariat Conference Centre in Bwari, Abuja, said considering the hardship in the country caused by fuel subsidy removal, schools would ensure only core curricular activities are focused on.  “We want to say that some of our social activities will be reduced in terms of the kind of money we pump into that. We also want to begin to organise staff quarters around where the schools are existing to reduce the cost of transportation for the staff and where we could not build quarters, we can rent apartment and pay ahead and deduct on instalment basis,” Otubela said. Court Sends Banker, Eight Internet Fraudsters to Prison in Benin City Andrew Nwadiashi a 40 year-old banker and eight internet fraudsters were on Friday, August 4, 2023, convicted and sentenced to prison by Justice M. Itsueli of the Edo State High Court sitting in Benin City.   The others are Osawa Marvellous, Etinosa Ogieva, Erharruyi Osaigbovo, Isaac Godstime Eghosa, Obasohan Kelvin, Evans Jessa Mike, Timothy Odion and Festus Efe Iyengunmwena Nwadiashi was arrested following a petition by First Bank sometime in 2020. As Head, Non-Financial Transaction at Warri branch of the bank in Delta State, he allegedly disregarded banking policy and debited a customer’s account to the tune of N9, 354,000.00. During investigation the banker confessed to the offence.
