Nigerian man, Chimaobim arrested after caught with pants off, exposing self in public in U.S U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested a Nigerian national, Chimaobim Adedayo Igbojekwe in Pennsylvania after he pleaded guilty to a disorderly conduct charge following a public exposure incident. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said ICE took Igbojekwe into custody on October 1, following his arrest by local police on September 27. According to DHS, Igbojekwe pleaded guilty to the disorderly conduct charge. Following his conviction, ICE arrested him on October 1. Local reports cited by DHS said Igbojekwe was working as a canvasser for Janelle Stelson, the Democratic nominee for Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District, when the incident occurred. NNPC Retail, which already sells petrol at the lowest price in the market, will offer this new deal within the next 30 days. This means if NNPC's landing cost is N1300, it will sell fuel to Nigerians, especially commercial vehicles, at the same price. Jane Adetoro, 36, Christina Walters, 32, and Rebecca Walters, 31, had been living “very secluded lives” following the death of their mother, who drowned in 2010, senior coroner Penelope Schofield said.  AFRICAN UNION SIGNS MOU ON USE OF AFRICAN STANDBY FORCE The African Union has signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment and use of the African Standby Force to support efforts against terrorism and emerging security threats. The AU Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security, Ambassador Bankole Adeoye made the disclosure at a two-day high-level forum on repositioning the Multinational Joint Taskforce to effectively combat evolving security threats in the Lake Chad Region. The Statement further adds that the Forum was convened by the Defence Headquarters in partnership with the irregular Warfare Centre of the National Defence College in Abuja.  EFCC Arraigns Two for Money Laundering in Lagos    The Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, arraigned  Ali Bala (a.k.a Barrister Ahmed)  and  Yusuf  Umar Anka before Justice Olubunmi Abike-Fadipe of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, over an alleged theft and money laundering to the tune of £110,000.00 (One Hundred and Ten Thousand Pound Sterling).    The duo are standing trial on a ten-count charge bordering on stealing, laundering of funds and retention of stolen property.   Count one reads: ‘That you, ALI BALA (a.k.a Barrister Ahmed) and YUSUF UMAR ANKA, sometime in 2025 in Lagos within the Jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, conducted financial transactions of proceeds involving your unlawful activities to disguise the source of the stolen £110,000.00 (One Hundred and Ten Thousand Pound Sterling).   Another counts: reads: “That you, A...

  Full Text: Minister of Finance Prof Taiwo Oyedele Briefing on Fuel Prices and Subsidy Questions Today we want to speak plainly about the price of fuel. We know what it means for the commuter in Lagos, the farmer in Kano and the trader in Aba. Prices have risen, and Nigerians are feeling it. That concern is legitimate, and this government recognises it. In recent weeks, there has been debate about proposals to return to fuel subsidy, including one described as a “production subsidy” for local refining. We do not question the motives of those who propose it. We agree on the problem. Where we differ is on the remedy. So I will do three things this afternoon, with proper context using data and evidence. First, I will explain what is driving prices. Second, I will clarify why a subsidy would make matters worse.  Over 400 PDP, Labour Party, ADC Members Defect To APC In Lere Over 400 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP) and African Democratic Congress (ADC) have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The defectors joined the APC at a reception held in Kadiri, Garun Kurama Ward, where they pledged their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani and other APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections. The new members were led by Yahaya Kazah, described as a staunch PDP loyalist, and Hon. Sunday Bitrus, a leader of the Labour Party. Receiving the defectors were the Honorary Adviser to the Kaduna State Governor on Domestic Affairs, Hon. FBI raids suspected fraud centre in Ghana, arrests over 130 suspects The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has reportedly raided a suspected fraud compound in Ghana, arresting more than 130 people. FBI Director Kash Patel disclosed the operation in a post shared on his official X account on Thursday. Patel said the operation, codenamed “Operation Blackout,” was carried out this week as part of the FBI’s efforts to dismantle global scam centres. “OPERATION BLACKOUT: This is the FBI’s global scam-centre fraud demolition. Another takedown this week out of Ghana,” Patel wrote.

  ANAMBRA POLICE CLARIFIES VIRAL VIDEO INVOLVING COURT BAILIFFS AND POLICE OPERATIVES OVER ENFORCEMENT OF COURT ORDER The Anambra State Police Command is aware of a video currently circulating on social media concerning an encounter between a Court Bailiff and Police Operatives attached to B Division, in connection with the enforcement of a court order. The Command notes that the circulating video captures only part of the incident and does not, in itself, provide the full circumstances or events preceding the encounter. The Command has therefore commenced an assessment of the incident with a view to establishing the facts. Preliminary information indicates that the Police Operatives were responding to a distress call concerning the presence of unidentified persons and a reported disturbance at a premises within the jurisdiction of the Division.  BLACKOUT HITS KARU, KEFFI, AKWANGA & ENVIRONS AS THREE TRANSMISSION TOWERS COLLAPSE Three towers along the Karu-Keffi-Akwanga 132kV Transmission Line corridor have collapsed as a result of rainy and windy conditions. A statement by the Transmission Company of Nigeria TCN says with this development, all 33kV outgoing feeders at the Keffi and Akwanga Transmission Substations are currently without electricity TCN  further notes that it has mobilised its engineers to the site to  assess the extent of the damage to enable them determine requirements needed to commence restoration activities. The statement regrets the inconvenience this development will cause electricity customers taking supply from substations affected by the tower incident assuring that bulk power supply will be restored quickly as soon as repair work is completed.
