In a blog post that has now been published by many international media organisations, in an apparent well-coordinated public relations effort, Binance Chief Executive Officer Richard Teng made false allegations of bribery against unidentified Nigerian government officials who he claimed demanded $150m in cryptocurrency payments to resolve the ongoing criminal investigation against the company.  This claim by Binance CEO lacks any iota of substance. It is nothing but a diversionary tactic and an attempted act of blackmail by a company desperate to obfuscate the grievous criminal charges it is facing in Nigeria. LAGOS STATE IS SET TO START MANUFACTURING PENCIL,IN IT'S STATE VERY SOON.

                         Lagos state is set to join the league of pencil producers in the world as a pencil manufacturing company has been given the nod by the Akinwunmi Ambode Administration to pioneer production of the age-long writing tool in the state.,This was made known yesterday thursday by Prof Ademola Abass,Special Adviser,Officer of Overseas Affairs and Investment at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre,Alausa,keja during the Y2016 Ministerial Press Briefing of the Lagos State Government as part of activities marking the one year in Office of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.Prof. Abass,who emphasised that the State Government would only approve investment proposals that are beneficial to Lagosians,said the proposal for pencil manufacturing by Gold Anchor Investment Ltd,was approved by the State Government coupled with the facilitation of an expanse of land in the Epe axis of the state for the company to build its factory.The Special Adviser to the Governor noted that it was surprising that until now the rest of West Africa depended on the importation of pencil to meet their demands as none of such manufacturing outfit existed in the entire West African sub-region.On the number of investment coming to Lagos,Prof. Abass stated that Lagos had received 162 investment prositions worth $43 billion,adding that the state continued to get attention from investors in different sectors,especially ICT,manufacturing,environment,infrastructure,real estate,tourism and transportation,among others.Other approved investment proposals out of the 162 include the transformation of Oshodi,expected to materialise within the next 15 months;the Medical Park to be situated at the Old School of nursing in Ikoyi and the Kuramo /island resort,among others.One more photo below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
