 PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS AMBASSADOR ENIKANOLAIYE ON HIS BIRTHDAY   President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, on his birthday.    A statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, indicates that the President describes Ambassador Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat, accomplished administrator and dedicated public servant whose career reflects professionalism, patriotism and a deep commitment to Nigeria.   Ambassador Enikanolaiye served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from August 1982 to August 2017, rising through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary.  APC: Only Uzodinma-led committee can announce final result of Edo guber primary

The All Progressives Congress (APC) says only the committee led by Hope Uzodinma, governor of Imo state, can announce the results of the Edo governorship primary election.


In a statement on Saturday, Felix Morka, APC spokesperson, said the public should disregard any results announced by “unauthorised persons”.


This is coming a few hours after some suspected political thugs were said to have disrupted the collation of results of the primary election.


“The attention of the National Working Committee of our great party has been drawn to a live broadcast on major national television stations and online news outlets of results of the ongoing Edo State APC governorship primary election by some unauthorized persons,” Morka said.


“We wish to state categorically that only the Governor Hope Uzodinma-Led Edo State APC Governorship Primary Election Committee is duly authorized to undertake final collation and announcement of results of the Primary Election in the State.


“We urge all party members, officials in the State, and the general public to disregard the said announcement of results by these unauthorized persons.”


Whoever wins APC primary election will become the flag bearer of the party for the governorship election fixed for September.
