 PRESIDENT TINUBU CONGRATULATES MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS AMBASSADOR ENIKANOLAIYE ON HIS BIRTHDAY   President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, on his birthday.    A statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, indicates that the President describes Ambassador Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat, accomplished administrator and dedicated public servant whose career reflects professionalism, patriotism and a deep commitment to Nigeria.   Ambassador Enikanolaiye served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from August 1982 to August 2017, rising through the ranks to become Permanent Secretary.   NIA DG, Ahmed Rufai resigns

NIA boss tenders resignation to President Tinubu


In a surprise move, the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, has resigned from his position, effective immediately. 


Abubakar submitted his resignation letter to President Bola Tinubu on August 24.


The reasons behind Abubakar's sudden departure are still unclear, sparking speculation about the circumstances surrounding his exit.


Abubakar, who was appointed NIA DG by former President Muhammadu Buhari in January 2018, has been at the helm of the agency for over five years. 


His resignation comes at a time when the agency is critical in addressing Nigeria's security challenges.
