Kaduna businessman drags ex fiancee’s father to court, demands dowry refund A businessman, Nasiru Dayyabu, on Wednesday, dragged the father of his ex-fiance, Mallam Sani Direba, to Shari’a Court II sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna over N260,000 dowry. The complainant had joined Direba in the suit against two brothers demanding a refund of N250, 000 dowry and N10,000 introduction money he paid to marry his daughter. Represented by his counsel, Mr Sani Sunusi, the complainant told the court that he sent his people from Karaye, Kano State to Kaduna in 2025, to seek for the defendant’s daughter’s hand in marriage. “We paid the dowry and the introduction money (kudin gausuwa) and were waiting for them to set a date for the wedding,” he said. “Unfortunately, the lady’s father called to inform us that they have cancelled the marriage.” The counsel said the complainant had asked for the refund of his money since Sept. 2025 but all the efforts he made proved abortive.  Bluetooth earring company responds to Kamala Harris’s debate allegations


A company that makes Bluetooth earrings that looked like what Kamala Harris wore during her debate has responded after she was accused of wearing the device to cheat while debating Donald Trump.

 

Harris, who has previously suggested that Bluetooth headphones pose a 'security risk', was accused of wearing earphones disguised as pearl earrings to aid her during the 90-minute contest against Republican rival Donald Trump on Tuesday night.


 While some suggested that earrings worn by Kamala Harris might be Tiffany HardWear pearl earrings

Critics alleged the gold pearl loops which Harris, 59, has worn before and are believed to be from Tiffany's, are actually a pair of smart audio earrings engineered by German start-up company NOVA due to their striking similarity.


Many X users, particularly Trump's supporters, claimed that the earrings might be earphones, implying they could have been used to receive assistance during the debate. These earrings, which resemble Nova H1 audio earrings, are designed to appear as stylish accessories while functioning as wireless earphones. 


�Malte Iversen, the managing director of the NOVA-manufacturing Icebach Sound, says he can neither confirm nor deny if they are his earrings.

�'We do not know whether Mrs Harris wore one of our products. The resemblance is striking and while our product was not specifically developed for the use at presidential debates, it is nonetheless suited for it,' Iversen said in a statement.


Male version coming soon’

�He then poked a little fun at Harris' opponent, Trump offering him an opportunity to make things even.

To ensure a level playing field for both candidates, we are currently developing a male version and will soon be able to offer it to the Trump campaign. The choice of colour is a bit challenging though as orange does not go well with a lot of colours,' Iversen told Just the News.


Meanwhile, the company has also vowed to clear up the “rumors and myths surrounding our wonderful products” during a forthcoming appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”


Following the presidential debate we have been contacted by numerous TV shows for interviews,” a message on the Munich-based company’s website states.

“After thorough discussions we have decided that we will grant one live interview … our chosen interviewer is Jimmy Fallon, a trusted Bavarian in heart.”

It wasn’t immediately clear when the supposed Fallon appearance was slated to air.


For those wanting to buy the product, those are currently out of stock, according to the managing director who also mentioned that the company is facing difficulties, including a lawsuit from a Chinese tech firm over patent infringement.

“We are talking to investors in order to ramp up operations accordingly and are confident that we will ship again very soon.”


Nova H1 Audio Earrings, are known for their innovative design that combines aesthetics with wireless audio functionality.

�Harris and Trump faced off in a heated debate Tuesday, September 10,  for the first time. The contest saw the Vice President bait the GOP hopeful with jabs at his economic policy, refusal to concede his 2020 election loss and even his performance at his rallies.
